The Saalbach Hinterglemm region offers a variety of trail running routes through the Salzburg mountains — from valley loops to alpine summit tours. The Tree Top Walk at the head of the valley in Hinterglemm is the highest treetop walk in Europe. Highlights include the 200-metre-long ‘Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps’ (up to 42 metres high) and the 600-metre-long treetop walkway made of larch wood (up to 30 metres above the ground) with viewing platforms and play stations. The 2-kilometre circular trail is suitable for families, nature lovers and all age groups. Admission prices: €10 (children aged 4 and over), €13 (aged 16 and over), free for under-4s. The treetop walk is open all year round. In summer, you can reach it easily by the valley-end train (free with the JOKER Card); in winter, on foot or by horse-drawn sleigh.

There is a huge variety of activities on offer: hiking, mountain biking, climbing (over 1,000 climbing routes in the Pinzgau), trail running, rafting, canyoning, paragliding, archery, mini-golf, tennis and the high-rope adventure park. The Saalbach go-kart track offers thrills on four wheels. The JOKER Card offers discounts on many of these activities.

Yes. Right in Saalbach, you’ll find Captain Hook’s Adventure Outdoor Pool, featuring slides, a white-water channel and a 1,000 m² swimming area — admission is free with the JOKER Card. In the surrounding area, Lake Zell and Lake Ritzen also offer great spots for a swim. The Teufelswasser adventure park at the head of the valley offers crystal-clear spring water in rock pools for children and adults.

The region is ideally situated for day trips: Zell am See and Lake Zell (approx. 30 mins by car), the Top of Salzburg on the Kitzsteinhorn near Kaprun (approx. 30 mins), the city of Salzburg (approx. 1 hour) and the Krimml Waterfalls (approx. 1.25 hours).

The region offers around 400 kilometres of cycle routes and trails of all levels of difficulty and is one of the top cycling destinations in the Alps. Highlights include the Epic Bike Park and numerous single tracks.
